#IMercoledìAntispreco: when sustainability starts at the table
The last edition of #IMercoledìAntispreco has recorded impressive numbers on social media: 2.6 million people reached, 2.3M total views and 35,000 interactions. A project born two years ago with the aim of raising awareness about waste in the kitchen that confirms, this year too, its success.
Saclà Italia and Al.ta Cucina together against food waste
The food creator Lodovico Tamburi, known as “Lodo” (lodo_cucina) of the brigade of Al.ta Cucina, contributed to the project by creating live and video stories to share tips “empty fridge“, in order to avoid waste and also reduce the costs of spending.
The four meetings were broadcast, every Wednesday, on the Instagram profile of Alta Cucina (al.ta.cucina), reaching a total of about 2.6 million people.
One of the novelties this year was the realization of live in the studios of Al.ta Cucina, a community for food lovers with over 5 million followers on various platforms.
Tips for saving food and the environment
Saving the future one recipe at a time
In this latest edition, Saclà challenged the community to share recipes for recovery in an online contest with the aim of creating a virtual recipe book that protects the environment and guides people in choosing sustainable dishes.
The Saclà commitment with Banco Alimentare
In addition to social engagement, games and community prizes, this challenge had a more important objective: to continue raising awareness of the topic of food consumption and supporting for the third consecutive year Banco Alimentare, the non-profit organization that every day collects food and donates it to the affiliated charitable structures avoiding the waste of still good and perfectly intact food.
Saclà concluded the #IMercoledìAntispreco initiative with a financial donation to Banco Alimentare, aimed at distributing 150,000 meals* to families in difficulty.
* F.lli Saclà spa has donated to Banco Alimentare a financial contribution to recover and distribute food equivalent to 150,000 meals which, thanks to the associated charitable structures, will reach the tables of many people and families in difficulty (1 equivalent meal corresponds to 500 gr. of food based on the LARN – Levels of Nutrient and Energy Intake for the Italian population).
